Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring neuro experience and the ability to float among multiple hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Work in a PCU unit that also cares for med-surg (MS) patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Will float to ICU for downgraded PCU patients
• Float required between five hospitals based on staffing needs within skillset
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Will provide care for both PCU and med-surg patients
• May float to ICU for care of downgraded PCU patients
• Block scheduling is not allowed
• Requested time off (RTO) must be provided at the time of application and cannot be changed after submission
• First-time travelers considered but not preferred
• Local candidates within 50 miles will receive a lower rate

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of neuro experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, ASLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must pass Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing contract (PC only, two attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions
