Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a multi-campus role in critical access settings, requiring a MN RN license and the ability to float to Med Surg.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Emergency Department with required floating to Med Surg at three campuses
• Serves both adult and pediatric populations
• Critical access hospital environment with 89 staffed beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 during days and 1:6 during nights
• Shifts are 12 hours (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30), with a flexible day/night schedule
• Weekend shifts required at least every third weekend, may increase based on staffing needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR system is used and experience is beneficial
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs including Med Surg units at Melrose, Long Prairie, and Sauk Centre campuses
• Expected to care for a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Black scrubs are required for RNs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Free parking is provided in the main lot
• Time off requests must be finalized prior to contract, no time off allowed during the first week, and a maximum of 10 days per assignment

Requirements

• Active MN RN license or eligibility to obtain (pending license accepted if already applied)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience and 1 year of Med Surg experience required
• Proven ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Previous OB experience is preferred but not required
• Must not live within 50 miles of the facility
