Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position with night and weekend shifts, requiring a current MT or compact RN license and critical care certifications.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
- Night and weekend shifts, working 36 hours weekly (three 12-hour shifts)
- Patient population includes critical care and coronary patients
- May require working beyond the standard workweek to meet organizational and patient needs
- Primary responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of interventions for critically ill patients
- Collaborates closely with multidisciplinary healthcare team members
- Ongoing education and annual stroke competency training required
- Must maintain strong clinical judgement, emotional intelligence, and professionalism in high-stress situations
- Role includes handling potential exposures to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and emotional challenges related to patient care
Requirements
- Current and active Montana or compact RN license
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS (within 8 months of hire), PALS (within 8 months of hire), and NIH Stroke Scale (within 6 months of hire)
- Ability to practice modified primary nursing care
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive movements
- Must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered
