Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position with at least 5 years of PACU or outpatient surgical setting experience and a current CA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a day surgery unit serving both adult and pediatric patients
• Assignment requires coverage of pre-op, PACU, and post-op areas
• Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts, variable start times between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM
• No on-call or weekend requirements
• Closing shift (9:30 AM to 6:00 PM) may require staying late if discharge criteria are not met
• Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care including patient and family education and transitions of care
• Must be able to provide care in pre-op, PACU, and post-op settings
• Return staff candidates must have at least one year away before returning as travelers
• Only one holiday requested off (RTO) will be approved during the assignment
• Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing ACA
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active California RN license required
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an inpatient PACU RN or in an outpatient surgical setting
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS
• Experience caring for both adult and pediatric surgical patients
