Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NM or compact RN license and at least two years of recent large ED experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Emergency Department
• Cares for a diverse ED patient population in a fast-paced environment
• 12-hour night shifts with weekend and on-call coverage as needed
• Floating to other departments or local locations within 20 miles is required
• May utilize the Epic EMR system, with training available on site
• Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Supervises LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed
• Must complete unit-specific competency testing and education requirements
• Return staff must have a minimum one-year gap before being eligible to return as a traveler
• No local candidates accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Holiday coverage may be required

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
• Minimum of two years of recent experience in a large Emergency Department
• Successful completion of at least one previous 13-week travel assignment
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS, all through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Associate's degree or higher in Nursing (ADN or ASN)
• Must pass an onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test, with one retake allowed
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
