Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring a compact or VA RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within an acute care hospital setting
• Care for adult patients with cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, pulmonary and other acute medical conditions
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend requirement includes working every other Saturday, with Sundays off
• Uses Meditech charting system
• Scrub colors are black or Caribbean blue
• Nurses coordinate direct patient care and provide patient education
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Locals are not accepted
