Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a cardiac unit with night shifts and a requirement for a current MI RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 54-bed hospital cardiac telemetry unit
- Patient population includes heart failure, heart attack (STEMI/NSTEMI), stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and overflow medical patients
- Typical patient ratios range from 1:5-6 and may increase to 1:7 during call-ins
- Telemetry monitoring performed both remotely and on the unit, with cardiac drips managed
- Night shift schedule: four 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required for two out of three major holidays
- No call requirements
- Cerner Powerchart is used for electronic documentation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color is Caribbean Blue
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible
- Unit is actively hiring Patient Care Techs to support nursing staff
- Team routinely onboards new travelers to assist with staffing needs
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility for consideration
