Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a cardiac unit with night shifts and a requirement for a current MI RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 54-bed hospital cardiac telemetry unit
• Patient population includes heart failure, heart attack (STEMI/NSTEMI), stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and overflow medical patients
• Typical patient ratios range from 1:5-6 and may increase to 1:7 during call-ins
• Telemetry monitoring performed both remotely and on the unit, with cardiac drips managed
• Night shift schedule: four 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required for two out of three major holidays
• No call requirements
• Cerner Powerchart is used for electronic documentation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color is Caribbean Blue
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible
• Unit is actively hiring Patient Care Techs to support nursing staff
• Team routinely onboards new travelers to assist with staffing needs

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility for consideration
