Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit, requiring a MD or compact RN license and strong CPU/PCU experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Cardiac Telemetry unit with a combined higher-acuity CPU and PCU setting
• Cares for adult and geriatric patients with various complex diagnoses such as CHF, ECOPD, NSTEMI, new-onset A-fib, arrhythmias, sepsis, and renal failure/AKI
• Unit consists of 22 rooms and 30 beds with an average daily census of 30 patients
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend shift is required
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• First-time travelers are accepted if they possess strong CPU and PCU experience
• Must be comfortable caring for patients with a wide variety of cardiac and medical conditions
• Team-oriented environment with support for higher acuity patient care

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• Current BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS certification preferred
• At least 2 years of nursing experience required
• CPU and PCU experience with the ability to manage higher acuity patients
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric populations
