Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with Cerner charting experience and active BCLS and NIHSS certifications for night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, every other weekend required
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:5 to 1:6
• Requires floating to other Med/Surg units or nearby affiliate hospitals
• Cerner EMR is used and prior experience is preferred
• Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult patient population
• Must be willing to float to various Med/Surg settings as needed
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) can be auto-approved

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or compact) in hand at submission
• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• BCLS and NIHSS certifications required; AHA and RQI accepted
• Graduation from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• Cerner charting experience required
• COVID vaccine required with exemptions only for documented medical or religious reasons
• Indiana residents are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN employees must be separated for at least 12 months before being considered as travelers
