Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager RN to lead a Level III NICU, requiring prior interim leadership and NICU management experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in a hospital setting
• Level III NICU supporting >22 to ~46 week neonates, with a capacity of 42 beds and over 5,000 deliveries annually
• Requires management of neonatal patients on drips such as epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine
• Daytime hours with a 40-hour workweek in an exempt position
• Accountable for 24-hour clinical and administrative leadership of the NICU
• Utilizes Epic EMR; experience with Epic is required
• Role involves full clinical and administrative oversight of the NICU
• Unionized nursing workforce environment
• Responsibilities include supporting and mentoring other leaders in the department
• Ability to travel home is allowed but not permitted every weekend
• Time off before late April must be limited to accommodate department needs
• Potential opportunity for permanent placement is available
• Holiday coverage may be required as per facility needs

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required and must be in hand
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum of one, ideally two, completed interim leadership assignments
• Prior experience managing a Level III or higher NICU is required
• Demonstrated ability to mentor leaders and guide teams through departmental changes
• Epic EMR experience required
• One supervisory reference from within the past two years is required
• Must provide current driver’s license
• Work history/resume and completed skills checklist within past year required
