Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring EPIC experience, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and strong cardiac telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit with a focus on cardiac telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Patient ratio is 1:5 in PCU
• Floating may be required between campuses as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses EPIC EMR system; experience is mandatory
• Provide advanced nursing care for complex cardiac and telemetry patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to strict attendance policies
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotation
• Self-study for preparation of the EKG exam is required, as study materials are not provided
• Candidates are expected to float to other units or campuses as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or Compact state required
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Prior experience in cardiac telemetry care and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with titrating drips, peripheral line management, and PICC line care required
• Must have experience managing PCU patient ratios
• Experience with EPIC EMR required
• Must pass a mandatory EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
