Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Cardiac Telemetry position requiring neuro stepdown experience and an active SC or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24-bed adult Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Patients include adults needing cardiac monitoring and neuro stepdown care
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to qualified units or campuses may be required based on staffing needs
• Uses EPIC EMR system with at least 1 year of EPIC experience required
• Provide advanced cardiac telemetry and neuro stepdown care, including initiation and management of specialized therapies
• Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team in an acute care environment
• All requested time off must be submitted with your application and is subject to approval at booking
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2-week period
• Two professional references required for consideration
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Compliance with facility policies and orientation procedures required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency in IV starts, port access, PICC, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Skills required include trach management, oxygen delivery (nasal cannula, masks, portable O2, HFNC, CPAP/BIPAP), chest tube management, ABG interpretation, feeding tube management, PCA, procedural sedation, heparin protocols, and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience required in post-MI care, cardiac caths and angiograms, dysrhythmia management, telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, renal failure care, pre/post hemodialysis, and rapid response team use
• At least 1 year of experience with EPIC charting system
