Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pain Management/Interventional Radiology position requiring an active IL RN license and strong floating flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting in the Pain Management and Interventional Radiology departments
• Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Work a 5x8 evening schedule, 3:30pm–12:00am, with no block scheduling allowed
• On-call rotation includes weekdays (12am-8am), weekends and holidays (24 hours), rotated through all nurses
• Mandatory floating within Radiology and Pain departments, and potentially to other units within 50 miles as needed
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend or two weekends per month, with occasional 8am-4:30pm weekend day shifts
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Lead aprons must be worn during procedures
• Navy blue scrubs required, not provided by facility
• Responsibilities include providing nursing care for pain management and interventional radiology patients
• Staff work with a team-based model when floated outside primary competency area
• Strict compliance with onboarding procedures, including required lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Requests for time off (RTO) limited to 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO permitted on weekends, holidays, or adjacent to holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Travelers may be asked to float on short notice (minimum 2 hours' notice) up to 50 miles from the primary facility

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in pain management, interventional radiology, or similar hospital departments preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (booster not required, no exceptions)
• Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted and preferred
