Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LDRP position requiring at least 2 years of L&D, postpartum, and special care nursery experience along with a WY or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital LDRP unit providing Labor and Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Care provided includes antepartum, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, immediate newborn resuscitation, postpartum, and special care nursery cases
• Uses computerized charting, Pyxis medication system, central electronic fetal monitoring, and Alaris IV smart pumps
• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with self-scheduling
• Required to work 2 weekends per month and 2 holidays if covering over holiday periods
• No current on-call requirements
• Floating may occasionally be required to the medical floor or ER to assist with basic tasks
• Unit includes 3 LDR rooms, 5 postpartum rooms, 4 triage rooms, a recovery area, and an OR suite
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• Responsibilities include newborn resuscitation, initial stabilization after delivery, CPAP, PIV access, IV fluids and antibiotics, managing hyperbilirubinemia and hypoglycemia, and stabilizing infants for transfer
• Two-day orientation covers EMR system, workflow, and supplies
• Scrubs are provided; visible tattoos and body jewelry are not permitted except for stud earrings
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Facility may call off up to 24 hours per 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WY State or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and special care nursery
• Current BLS, NRP, and Intermediate AWHONN certifications required
• Experience with computerized charting, central fetal monitoring, Pyxis, and Alaris IV smart pumps
