Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray with at least 1 year of acute care experience and ARRT certification for a rotating shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in an acute care hospital radiology department
• Work encompasses general X-ray, OR cases (cystos, ortho, GI), and fluoro procedures
• Department has 4 rooms: 3 general X-ray, 1 fluoro, as well as 2 portables and 3 C-Arms
• Average daily volume is 110 scans/studies
• Shifts rotate and include days, afternoons, nights, and every other weekend; four 10-hour shifts per week
• Travelers float between general radiology, fluoro, and OR as needed
• Must be able to work independently overnight as the only technologist on site
• Uses Cerner (Community Works) EMR and Intellirad/Intelliconnect PACS
• Equipment includes C-arms OEC, GE AMX portables, DR-Konica, Del Medical, Siemens, and Philips scanners
• Must be comfortable covering solo on overnight shifts
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• A five-shift orientation with a preceptor is provided
• May wear any color scrubs as long as they are professional; permanent staff wear emerald green if matching is desired
• Holiday shifts may be assigned as part of the rotation
• Previous employees of any WVU Medicine location must have a two-year break before reapplying as a traveler
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• WV CARES background clearance is required prior to start

Requirements

• ARRT certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• West Virginia X-ray license required if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a radiology technologist in an acute care setting
• Ability to perform in all areas, including general X-ray, portable, OR, and fluoro procedures
• Must submit an unexpired driver’s license for consideration
• Disclosure of any licensing violations is required
