Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring open heart recovery experience and a current NJ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post-open heart recovery and advanced cardiac support cases
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00
• Float required within five hospitals based on skillset
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Uses Epic charting system
• First time travelers are accepted but not preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Block scheduling is not allowed
• All requested time off must be submitted up front; changes cannot be made after submission
• Local candidates within 50 miles are paid at a slightly reduced rate

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience
• Experience with open heart recovery directly from the OR
• Proficiency with balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella, and ECMO
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing, with only two attempts allowed using a PC
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required, no exemptions
