Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in Massachusetts requiring advanced telemetry skills and flexibility to float to any Med/Surg unit.

Responsibilities

• Hospital Med/Surg Float Pool setting, floating may occur every 4 hours
• Assigned to units with 20 to 34 beds depending on specific unit needs
• Typical patient ratio is 1:6
• Care for medical surgical patients with telemetry monitoring requirements
• Personal scrubs of any color are allowed
• Requires own vehicle for commuting to assignment
• Must complete all scheduling and time off requests at the time of application
• No block scheduling is offered for this position
• Holiday coverage and flexible scheduling may be required
• The work environment supports floating pool RNs with resources for transitions
• Travelers may not submit requests for more than 5 days of scheduled time off
• First time travelers are considered if all requirements are met

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years current Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course is strongly required
• Telemetry experience is required
• Willingness and flexibility to float to any Med/Surg unit is required
• Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
