Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a NC or compact license and proficiency with Epic EMR.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a short-term acute care, Level III trauma and teaching hospital
• Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00 to 07:00
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating within scope to like units and between hospital campuses may be necessary
• Epic charting experience is required
• Primary responsibilities include providing specialized care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Team includes experienced critical care staff in a supportive teaching environment
• Completion of 4-10 hours of pre-start online modules required
• Royal blue and white scrubs are required
• Can only approve one holiday off per assignment
• Time off requests are limited to a maximum of 4 days per assignment unless otherwise approved
• Returning travelers must have at least a 1-year break before reapplying, with a 2-contract limit before a 6-month break is required
• First-time travelers are typically not preferred but may be considered at the manager's discretion depending on experience

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass an EKG exam prior to start
• Epic EMR experience is required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
