Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shifts at a Level III trauma critical access facility, with experience in LDRP nursing and the ability to float between units required.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit at a Level III trauma center
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- Expected patient ratios are 1:1 for active labor and 1:3 for postpartum, in accordance with AWHONN standards
- Floating to other units and across facilities within the state based on skill set and hospital need
- Epic is used for charting and EMR documentation
- Scrubs of any color are permitted; specialty scrubs provided for certain departments
- Main responsibilities include caring for mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
- Travelers are expected to float to all facilities in the state as needed, and refusal to float may result in termination
- Special floating procedures apply to certain facilities, including mileage reimbursement and hotel accommodations if floating consecutive shifts
- Minimal to no time-off requests will be accommodated for auto-offer positions
- No on-call requirements
- No parking fees for staff
- First-time travelers are considered for this assignment
Requirements
- Active OR RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years LDRP experience preferred
- Ability to provide two supervisory references covering one year within the specialty in the last three years
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Must have a vehicle for commuting and potential floating between facilities
- Former permanent staff must have at least a 3-month separation and live more than 50 miles from the facility
