Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring proficiency with Impella and CRRT/NXStage and an active LA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes critically ill cardiovascular patients, including some COVID-19 and isolation cases
• Primary nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, but may flex to 1:3 as needed
• Use of advanced equipment including Impella, CRRT/NXStage, Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis machines, Edwards Lifesciences cardiac monitors, Medtronic EVD systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE monitors, Hill Rom beds, Pyxis medication station, and Veratron bladder scanner
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00–7:30), with four weekend shifts per four-week schedule
• Floating required to other ICUs and may include the ED, PACU, or occasionally MS/PCU units with up to 1:4 ratios
• No on-call required
• Nurses are responsible for all lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts in the CVICU
• Expected to provide care for COVID-19 and isolation patients as needed
• Limited RTO allowed, with a maximum of 5 days off during assignment
• Adherence to a 75-mile radius rule for eligibility
• Candidates who have been permanent employees at any LCMC facility within the past year are not eligible for travel consideration
• Must comply with designated dress code and applicable PPE requirements

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with CVICU experience highly preferred
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS (CPI can be obtained onsite)
• Proficiency with Impella and CRRT/NXStage is mandatory
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts independently
• Must know N95 mask size due to care of isolation patients
