Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring current BLS and ACLS certifications, PACU/recovery experience, and Epic EMR proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work in a PACU within a hospital universal care center setting
- Serve preoperative, postoperative, inpatient, and outpatient surgical patients
- Shift is day/evening, Monday through Friday, with 8 or 10-hour shifts between 0700 and 2030
- Care for patients recovering from anesthesia in a 14 bay recovery room
- Responsibilities include prepping patients for surgery, Phase II post-op care, pain management, and discharge teaching
- Required to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations as needed
- Nurses are responsible for assessment, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care in the immediate post-anesthetic period
- Team provides discharge teaching and pain management for outpatient surgical patients
- Travelers will be prioritized for floating if staffing needs change
- Free parking is available onsite
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years
- Recent PACU or recovery room nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required, preferred within the last 12 months
- Basic arrhythmia experience required and must pass a telemetry test prior to start
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site location
