Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with recent acute care and Epic experience for day/evening shifts and floating requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Universal Care Center (UCC) at a hospital setting
- Cares for preoperative and postoperative surgical patients, including both inpatient and outpatient status
- 48-room unit utilized for Emergency Department, Radiology, and Pre/Post Op patients
- PACU has 14 recovery bays
- Day/evening shifts Monday through Friday, with 8 or 10-hour shifts scheduled between 5:00 - 20:30
- Travelers are first to float as needed, with possible assignment to multiple units or locations
- Assist with both pre-op and Phase II post-op nursing duties including prepping, recovery, pain management, and discharge teaching
- Responsible for comprehensive perioperative nursing care for surgical patients
- Floating to different departments and locations may be required to fulfill contract
- Free parking available onsite
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license valid from permanent address state
- Minimum two years acute care experience within the last three years required
- Recent PACU or recovery room nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- Epic charting system experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Basic arrhythmia experience required and must pass a telemetry test prior to start
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the work site
