Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Oncology Med/Surg position in a Level II Trauma Center, requiring BLS, NIHSS, and ONS/ONCC chemo certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Oncology unit of a short-term acute care hospital
- Day shifts, 4x12 hours, from 7:00 to 19:30
- Required to work every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- Must float to other Med/Surg units when necessary
- Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience required
- Level II Trauma Center setting
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and providing oncology nursing care
- Team members may be required to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations
- Up to 7 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
- Must be able to provide one reference for consideration
- Previous permanent staff must be gone at least two years to be eligible as a traveler
- Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccination and booster are required, with allowance for medical or religious exemption
- Free parking is available on site
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- BLS, NIHSS, and ONS/ONCC chemo certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in acute care hospital oncology strongly preferred
- Must not have priors on nursing license
- Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from the facility (no locals allowed)
