Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Oncology Med/Surg position in a Level II Trauma Center, requiring BLS, NIHSS, and ONS/ONCC chemo certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Oncology unit of a short-term acute care hospital
• Day shifts, 4x12 hours, from 7:00 to 19:30
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Must float to other Med/Surg units when necessary
• Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience required
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and providing oncology nursing care
• Team members may be required to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be auto-approved
• Must be able to provide one reference for consideration
• Previous permanent staff must be gone at least two years to be eligible as a traveler
• Flu vaccination required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccination and booster are required, with allowance for medical or religious exemption
• Free parking is available on site

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS, NIHSS, and ONS/ONCC chemo certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in acute care hospital oncology strongly preferred
• Must not have priors on nursing license
• Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from the facility (no locals allowed)
