Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/ICU position requiring ND or compact RN license, ICU background, and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 23-bed Med/Surg/ICU unit with day/night rotation shifts
• Nurse to patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on census and patient needs
• Patient population includes all ages in a critical care environment
• Duties include telemetry, dressing changes, BIPAP care, IV starts, and management of ventilators
• Uses Epic for charting, Omnicell medication systems, Liko and EZ lifts, Alaris IV pumps, and Nova Statstrip blood glucose monitoring
• 12-hour shifts on a variable day/night schedule, including weekends
• No floating to other departments is required
• Full-time position working 72 hours per two-week pay period
• Black scrubs required as dress code
• One week of hospital and department orientation provided
• Must provide leadership and patient/family education as part of routine responsibilities
• Team environment with support from ancillary and clinical staff

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Completion of a basic cardiology class for nurses and experience with rhythm analysis and cardiac medications required
• Experience with BIPAP care and mechanical ventilation required
