Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring NC or compact licensure and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population focuses on cardiothoracic cases, including complex and critical patients
• Work schedule is night shift, 7:00pm to 7:00am, three shifts per week
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• CTICU or CVICU experience suitable
• Responsible for coordinating and delivering care to cardiothoracic ICU patients using the nursing process
• Participates in patient and family education using appropriate materials
• Collaborates and communicates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Expected to perform bedside point of care testing as needed
• Engages in performance improvement and professional development activities
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure environment

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience in an ICU setting
• Cardiothoracic ICU or Cardiovascular ICU experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC) required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
