Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN with recent Epic experience and charge responsibilities for a 13-week assignment in New York.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Schedule is a 13-week contract with a rotating pattern: three 12-hour shifts one week and three 12-hour plus one 8-hour shift the next
• Minimum of every other weekend required
• No block scheduling allowed
• Shift is 12 hours during the day
• Regularly assigned charge nurse duties
• Uses Epic EMR, recent experience required
• Will serve in a charge nurse capacity regularly during assignment
• Bi-weekly orientation sessions begin on Mondays
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November to April
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained in work history documentation
• Work environment does not have public transportation access
• Holiday coverage and schedule adjustments required to meet patient care needs
• Acceptance of local candidates with pay differences based on distance from facility

Requirements

• Active NY RN license or proof of application with applied date
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required
• Reliable personal transportation required due to lack of public transport in the area
