Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of experience in cardiac cath and EP procedures and active ARRT certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac cath lab with 3 labs focused on both cath and electrophysiology cases
• Average daily caseload is 15 to 18 cases primarily involving cardiology patients
• Responsibilities include scrubbing, documenting cases, stocking rooms, and assisting physicians with all EP procedures
• Monitor and circulate cases in EP using EP recording systems and equipment such as Toshiba, Carto, and Abbott
• Shift consists of four 10-hour rotating day or evening shifts, either 6:00 AM–4:30 PM or 9:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Call coverage required from 4:30 PM to 6:00 AM with a 30-minute response time
• Weekend and holiday call rotation is required
• EMR used is Epic
• Assignment is restricted to cath lab and EP duties only
• Primary duties include scrubbing and documenting cath and EP cases, stocking rooms, and supporting physicians for EP procedures
• Must be able to monitor and circulate in EP using EP recording systems
• Orientation is provided for the unit and department
• OR scrubs are provided daily
• No floating outside of cath lab and EP
• Previous perm staff at any WVU location must have a two-year separation before becoming eligible to return as travelers
• Travelers cannot exceed one year of work within the WVU system without a subsequent two-year break

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist with EP experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required
• Certified Cardiac Interventional Rad Tech - ARRT (CI) or ARRT (R) or ARRT (VI) required
• WVRT license required if applicable
• Proficient in operating EP recording systems and experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, INARI, and performing procedures including PVC, PT, crio or transeptal ablations, laser lead extractions, and device work
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Returning travelers must have a 2-year break from employment at any WVU facility before reapplying
