Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Operating Room position requiring a WA or Compact RN license and proficiency with DaVinci robotics.

Responsibilities

• Work in a large hospital Operating Room with 20 OR suites, including CVOR, hybrid Endo/Vascular, General, Neuro, Ortho, Peds, ENT, trauma, and outpatient procedures
• Night shifts are 8 hours, from 2245 to 0715, Monday through Friday with a set pattern
• Service lines include cardiovascular, general, neuro, ortho, pediatrics, trauma, GYN, GI, and GU
• Night shift focus on Neuro, Ortho, heavy trauma, and emergency general surgeries
• No transplants, burns, or adult ophthalmology cases, and pediatric OR experience is not required
• Mandatory trauma call is assigned to travelers unless possessing strong CVOR or pediatric skillset
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Robotic surgeries use DaVinci XI equipment
• Floating within the OR between service lines is expected
• Responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating for neuro, ortho, trauma, and emergency general surgeries
• Trauma call response time is 30 minutes; no designated sleep room available
• General hospital orientation is 1-2 days plus at least one full shift on the unit, with additional orientation as needed
• Support available from RT, hospitalist, and intensivist teams 24/7
• Dynamic and collaborative team environment with a focus on safety, process improvement, and education
• Scrub attire is provided by the facility
• Free parking is available in the parking garage
• Up to 5 days of RTO can be approved, and first-time travelers with strong OR experience will be considered
• Must adhere to policy of no personal phones on the unit and taking designated breaks

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of strong Operating Room experience required
• Robotic experience with DaVinci systems is required
• Must be comfortable administering blood (Belmont/intraoperative blood salvage) and assisting with arterial lines and wound vacs
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Completion and passing of a traveler telemetry competency test required prior to start
