Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN with Med/Surg Telemetry experience, telemetry skills, and at least two years of experience for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Care for patients on telemetry, including those undergoing gender affirmation surgery
• Patient ratio is typically 1:5 or 1:6
• Required to work night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (18:30-07:00)
• Every other weekend is required
• Required to work two out of three winter holidays and other holidays during contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
• Cerner EMR is used; experience preferred
• Responsibilities include caring for Med/Surg Telemetry patients and interpreting telemetry strips
• Must be able to float to similar or lower acuity units within the hospital
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs are required
• May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
• First time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Must be able to work assigned holidays as required by the contract

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Previous travel assignment required
• Certifications required: BLS and NIH
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Ability to provide care to patients undergoing gender affirmation surgery (experience preferred but not required)
• Must be comfortable working night shifts
• Required to have flu vaccination
