Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN with Med/Surg Telemetry experience, telemetry skills, and at least two years of experience for a night shift position.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Care for patients on telemetry, including those undergoing gender affirmation surgery
- Patient ratio is typically 1:5 or 1:6
- Required to work night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (18:30-07:00)
- Every other weekend is required
- Required to work two out of three winter holidays and other holidays during contract
- No on-call responsibilities
- Required to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
- Cerner EMR is used; experience preferred
- Responsibilities include caring for Med/Surg Telemetry patients and interpreting telemetry strips
- Must be able to float to similar or lower acuity units within the hospital
- Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs are required
- May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
- First time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Must be able to work assigned holidays as required by the contract
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- Previous travel assignment required
- Certifications required: BLS and NIH
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Ability to provide care to patients undergoing gender affirmation surgery (experience preferred but not required)
- Must be comfortable working night shifts
- Required to have flu vaccination
