Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least one year of home health experience for a day shift position providing care in home settings across the Hawaiian Islands.

Responsibilities

• Home health setting serving geriatric, neurologic, and orthopedic patient populations
• Productivity expectation is 25 units per week
• MatrixCare is used for documentation
• Primary location is Kaua'i with occasional floating to cover Oahu, Maui, and Big Island as needed (all expenses paid)
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 16:30
• Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, reassessment, discharge planning, and patient/family education in the home environment
• May work with conditions such as COPD, CHF, CABG, cystic fibrosis, MI, PVD, post-op orthopedic surgeries, cognitive disorders, Parkinson’s, and stroke rehabilitation
• Preferred skills include wound care, acute care, lymphedema management, and experience with complex neurological diagnoses
• Scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes are required
• First-time travelers are welcome for this assignment

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent home health physical therapy experience required
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• Active HI Physical Therapy license required
• Proficiency in geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, adaptive and assistive devices, OASIS, and patient assessment required
• Experience with MatrixCare or similar EMR preferred
• Strong time management and evaluation skills required
