Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring prior travel and charge experience as well as a NY RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adult med/surg and telemetry cases
• Schedule consists of a rotating pattern of three 12-hour shifts one week and three 12-hour shifts plus one 8-hour shift the following week, with minimum every other weekend coverage
• No block scheduling is permitted
• Regular charge nurse duties required
• EPIC EMR is used and recent experience is mandatory
• Charge responsibilities will be part of the regular duties
• Must have flexibility to accommodate changing unit needs and provide patient care as scheduled
• Work environment does not support public transportation, so dependable vehicle access is essential
• No block scheduling is allowed for any reason
• Time off requests must be specified and will be considered based on unit needs
• Radius-based pay structure applies, with different rates for local and travel candidates

Requirements

• Active NY RN license or proof of pending NY license at time of consideration
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required, with NIHSS needed prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience is required
• Charge RN experience required and will be utilized regularly
• EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years is a non-negotiable requirement
• Must have reliable transportation with a personal or rental vehicle as public transportation is not available
• Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires November through April
