Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current MI license and Level 2 trauma and specialty surgical experience for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
• Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM with 12-hour shifts
• Surgical patient population including Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, General/Gyn, and Urology cases
• No on-call or weekend shifts unless scheduled during a holiday
• Level 2 trauma environment with complex surgical procedures
• Responsible for pre-op assessment, developing individualized care plans, and maintaining patient safety throughout surgical procedures
• Supervise OR room activities, assemble supplies, assist anesthesia, and monitor the sterile field
• Communicate effectively with the patient, family, surgical team, and relevant departments
• Opportunity for leadership, preceptorship, and continuing education participation
• No more than 5 days of requested time off allowed
• Local candidates are accepted with a 50-mile radius restriction and are limited to one 13-week contract assignment

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license in hand
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years recent RN Operating Room experience required
• Level 2 trauma experience required
• Proficiency in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, General/Gyn, and Urology procedures required
• Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Submission of two supervisory references from the past two years required
• Operating Room specialty skills checklist completed within the past year required
