Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 6 months of experience, BLS, and either ARRT or NMTCB certification for a day shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a nuclear medicine department equipped with two cameras
• Average of 8-10 cases per day
• Patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and occasional pediatric cases
• Day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Regular on-call shifts required every other week, including weekday evenings and weekend days
• Rotation between multiple locations within the region
• Use of PACS system for image storage and interpretation
• Responsibilities include scheduling exams, starting IVs, administering medications, and performing diagnostic nuclear medicine studies
• Review images for diagnostic quality and ensure studies are complete before interpretation
• Maintain compliance with departmental and state radiation safety and quality standards
• Assist with departmental quality assurance and attend required meetings
• Maintain work area cleanliness and orderliness and coordinate with service providers for equipment maintenance
• Participation in ongoing education and license maintenance required
• 50-mile radius rule applies; no local candidates considered
• Scrub or dress code is not specified
• Study guides provided for initial EKG testing

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required
• Current BLS certification required
• Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required
• Valid state license required if applicable
• Vocational or technical degree in radiology preferred
• Experience with adult and geriatric populations required
• Must pass EKG testing on the first day with two attempts allowed
