Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in Illinois requiring Level 1 trauma and EPIC charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 pm - 7:30 am)
• Cares for critically ill adult patients in a hospital environment
• Use of EPIC electronic medical record system is required
• This is a 13-week travel assignment
• Provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process and current clinical practices
• Complete assessments, develop and implement care plans, and maintain thorough documentation
• Respond to and manage emergency situations for critically ill patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support professional development of peers
• RTO (requested time off) not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Travel partners are not accepted on this assignment
• Assignment at this facility may not exceed one year in length without a 6-month break before returning

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license (permanent or temp) in good standing required
• Minimum of one year relevant ICU nursing experience; three years preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Demonstrated EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
