Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with neuro, ortho trauma, and kidney transplant experience and a current MA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room, West campus, inpatient Level I trauma surgery setting
• Patient population includes bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic trauma, spine, major plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, and kidney and liver transplant cases
• Unit consists of 10 operating rooms focused on a wide variety of complex surgical procedures
• Day shift position with 10-hour shifts (7AM–5:30PM), 40 hours per week
• Up to 2 weekend shifts per month, which may include call or working shifts
• On-call required with 30-minute response time; short call shift once a week (3AM–7AM or 5PM–9PM)
• May be floated to East or CVI OR as needed
• Orientation provided weekly on Mondays, except holidays
• Care for patients undergoing complex and high-acuity surgical procedures in a Level I trauma OR
• Team includes experienced OR nurses and allied health staff specializing in trauma and transplant cases
• Participation in holiday coverage required if the contract includes those dates
• Parking may cost up to $43 per day; please inquire for details
• Pass/fail testing modules for Tele/ECG and medication competency may be required at certain campuses
• Returning travelers must have a six-month break from any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility before being considered

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Recent experience in neuro, ortho trauma, and kidney transplant surgeries
• Scrub and/or circulate experience in general surgery, robotics, transplants, ortho, neuro, spine, ENT (head & neck), GYN, urology, organ procurement, and trauma
• Must not have worked at Beth Israel Lahey Health as perm or per diem in past 6 months
• COVID-19 vaccine with booster and flu vaccine required; medical exemptions are allowed
• No local candidates accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• RTO (requested time off) must be approved prior to assignment
