Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least one year of experience, a GA or compact RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Telemetry Unit with a patient population ranging from adults to geriatrics
  • Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure and cardiac diseases
  • Responsible for interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • 17-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
  • Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required only to sister units within the service line
  • No call requirements
  • Responsibilities include managing adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions and utilizing advanced monitoring equipment
  • Scrub color requirement is navy blue
  • Holiday coverage is required based on the number of major holidays within the assignment period, following facility guidelines
  • Full compliance with documentation and onboarding required to start on time
  • Perm/PRN employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Return travelers must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before returning if previously deemed ineligible
  • Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit
  • No blocked scheduling permitted
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

  • Active GA or compact RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum one year of recent telemetry RN experience
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or higher
  • Must not request RTO during the first week of assignment; maximum 7 days RTO allowed
