Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience and current BLS and ACLS certifications for adult and geriatric care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Telemetry unit with an adult and geriatric patient population
• Diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and other vascular issues
• Patient ratio is 1:4-5 in a 36 room unit with an average daily census of 35
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Responsibilities include monitoring and managing telemetry patients with cardiac and vascular conditions
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Travel pairs will not be assigned the same shift on the same unit
• Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed, excluding the first week of assignment
• Time off is not allowed during designated blackout dates including Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• If assignment period includes major holidays, must work according to outlined holiday coverage expectations
• First time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Telemetry RN
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Two supervisory references from a manager or higher required
• Must be fully compliant prior to start date to ensure bi-weekly orientation scheduling
• Perm/PRN staff must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Returning travelers who are unable to return to one facility must complete one successful assignment outside the system prior to rebooking
