Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN with at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license for adult and geriatric care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with conditions such as post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
• Handles peritoneal dialysis and utilizes telemetry, EKG, and Doppler equipment
• Patient ratio is 1:5 with 16 beds and an average daily census of 16
• Uses Epic for electronic charting, with Pyxis and SBAR also in use
• Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
• Floating may be required within facility and scope of practice
• No call requirements
• Care for patients with a focus on cardiac health issues, including post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, and related diagnoses
• Scrub color required is navy blue
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Holiday work coverage is required as per assignment period: one holiday for one, both for two, and two for three holidays falling within the assignment
• No RTO allowed during the first week; maximum 7 days RTO with blackout during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• First time travelers are welcome
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as travelers
• Orientation may be rescheduled if not in full compliance by the start date due to fixed bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Travel pairs are not assigned the same shift on the same unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry RN experience is mandatory
• Prior experience with telemetry, EKG, Doppler, and peritoneal dialysis preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must provide two supervisory references at the time of consideration; must be manager level or above
