Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with two years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency for a travel assignment in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Patient assignment typically 1:2 ratio, may flex to 1:3
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Floating required to all ICUs and may float to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with 1:4 patient ratios
• No on-call required
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA pumps, Servo I ventilators, Fresenius CRRT, Edwards Lifesciences cardiac monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE monitors, Hill Rom beds, Pyxis medication station, and Veratron bladder scanner
• Epic charting system is used and prior experience is required
• Nurses are responsible for performing all lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Direct care for ICU patients including those requiring isolation precautions
• RTO (Requested Time Off) is limited to 5 days total during the assignment
• First time travelers may be considered unless otherwise specified
• No call required for this assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license in LA or compact state
• Minimum two years of recent ICU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (CPI can be obtained at facility for a fee)
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must know N95 mask size and be prepared to care for isolation or COVID-19 patients
• Returning employees must have been separated from any LCMC facility for at least 1 year
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius
