Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift position in New York requiring a current NY RN license and strong emergency care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department with combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratios are 1:5 with mixed and shared acuity levels
• Night shifts are 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• Floating to other units may be required based on census
• Epic is used for charting, with Epic experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub attire must be any combination of navy and white
• Minimal RTO is preferred and all time off requests must be submitted with the application
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Must be comfortable working with mixed adult and pediatric populations in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license is required at the time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ER RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Competency in emergency procedures including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting IVs, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, management of CVA, and isolation precautions
• Epic EMR experience preferred
