Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for an MS/Tele position requiring LA or compact RN licensure and expertise in telemetry and cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting on a med/surg telemetry unit
• Care for adult patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses including arrhythmias, MI, CHF, chest pain, COPD exacerbation, PNA, and more
• Involves med-surg overflow cases such as sepsis, GI bleed, CVA, and COVID+
• Special procedures include pre/post cardiac cath, ablations, vascular surgeries, and post-op care
• Utilizes equipment such as telemetry monitors, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:45 to 07:15
• Required to float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other holiday coverage required
• May be assigned to an emergency response team during certain events and expected to remain at the facility or participate in relief efforts as directed
• Responsible for comprehensive care including monitoring, medication administration, and responding to changing patient conditions
• Must be comfortable with non-guaranteed scheduling and cannot request block scheduling
• Team-oriented environment with expectation to float between units when needed
• References not required for consideration
• All time-off requests must be discussed during interview

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license
• All certifications must be American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current BLS certification required
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Competence in post-MI, post-cath, post-cardiac surgery care
• Skilled in port access, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and IV starts
• Experience titrating and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ability to manage wound care, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• Must reside at least 65 miles from the facility (local travelers not accepted)
