Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience and a GA or compact license for an adult/geriatric unit requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with 16 rooms on the unit
- Utilizes Epic EMR (required) and Pyxis
- Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:00)
- Floating required within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Required to work every other weekend
- Scrub color requirement: Navy blue
- Travelers are expected to work major holidays based on the length of assignment
- Compliance must be complete prior to start for timely orientation
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off, not allowed during the first week; no RTO allowed during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year to return as a traveler
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Travel pairs are not allowed to be assigned the same shift on the same unit
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Must provide two supervisory references (manager-level or above) for consideration
