Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience and a GA or compact license for an adult/geriatric unit requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with 16 rooms on the unit
• Utilizes Epic EMR (required) and Pyxis
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:00)
• Floating required within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Required to work every other weekend
• Scrub color requirement: Navy blue
• Travelers are expected to work major holidays based on the length of assignment
• Compliance must be complete prior to start for timely orientation
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off, not allowed during the first week; no RTO allowed during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year to return as a traveler
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Travel pairs are not allowed to be assigned the same shift on the same unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must provide two supervisory references (manager-level or above) for consideration
