Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a fast-paced Operating Room assignment in a Level I Trauma Center requiring a WV or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the 2W Operating Room of an acute care hospital
• Specializes in procedures including ENT, ortho, ophthalmology, GYN, and urology cases
• Outpatient surgical cases with quick turnover and small-room configurations
• 10 OR suites available averaging 80–120 cases daily
• Level I Trauma Center with all surgical service lines supported
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts per week
• 1 to 2 call shifts per week are typical
• No nights, holidays, or weekend work required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Scrubs are provided for OR staff
• Role is highly suited for RNs comfortable with fast-paced, high-turnover surgical cases
• Team supports multiple surgical specialties with both routine and complex procedures
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Holiday, night, and weekend coverage is not required for this unit
• Regular orienting opportunities align with biweekly start dates

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room RN experience
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with ambulatory and outpatient surgical environments preferred
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility for eligibility
• Previous perm employees or travelers must have a 2-year break from any WVU facility before reapplying
