Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Nurse Manager for a night shift position in an acute care MedSurg/Telemetry float pool, requiring recent charge RN experience and a current CA RN license.
Responsibilities
- Position is in an acute care MedSurg/Telemetry float pool setting
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required and first to float as needed
- Role includes a blend of charge nurse, clinical mentor, and manager responsibilities
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Responsibilities include rounding on patients, addressing service or safety issues, and serving as a resource for clinical and interpersonal concerns
- May take charge nurse assignments as needed based on census and staffing
- Comprehensive orientation provided: one week classroom followed by two weeks unit-based training
- Must pass competency testing as part of onboarding process
- Scrub or dress code per hospital policy
- Not open to first-time travelers
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered CA RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum of 3 years RN experience
- Recent charge RN experience in last assignment required
- Certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
- Two professional references: one supervisor within last 12 months, one peer or supervisor within last 3 years
- Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
- Must not have been directly employed by a facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
