Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and 18 months of recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Stepdown unit
• Day and night rotating shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00am-7:30pm/7:00pm-7:30am)
• Schedule may be adjusted based on operational needs, with the possibility of variable shifts
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Requires working at least every other holiday
• Responsibilities include providing nursing care to Stepdown patients with support from a multidisciplinary team
• Travelers may be rotated between shifts to meet hospital needs
• Orientation includes 4 hours of online modules, with additional pre-start and annual modules as required
• Holiday coverage required for assigned holidays
• Permanent or per diem candidates may not return to facility assignments for at least 1 year after the previous end date
• Nicotine use policy exempts nurses for a limited time; drug screening required
• Candidates must complete onsite fingerprinting and badging prior to the start date

Requirements

• Active permanent OH or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown (SDU) or Progressive Care (PCU) experience required
• AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests during orientation (two attempts maximum)
• References from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty are required
• No open criminal background cases or license hits accepted
