Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position working with mixed PCU and Med/Surg oncology patients and requiring Epic EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with mixed acuity PCU and Med/Surg oncology patients
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5
• Day (7:00–19:30) and night (19:00–7:30) 12-hour shifts are required, with scheduling based on departmental needs
• Self-scheduling is available with preferences considered prior to final schedule posting
• First week of orientation is Monday through Friday on dayshift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses Epic EMR and telemetry monitoring equipment
• Responsibilities include providing care to a mixed patient population with both PCU and Med/Surg oncology cases
• Team structure includes support from a preceptor during the initial unit orientation
• Scrub color requirements or dress code not specified
• No previous break between assignments is required for this specialty

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills with IV starts, telemetry, and tracheostomy management required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
