Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active SC or compact license and strong telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a medical-surgical telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45pm to 7:15am
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR
• Royal blue scrubs are required for this position
• All clinical modules must be completed prior to start date
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a different rate
• All requested time off must be submitted up front and may be approved based on facility needs
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Free onsite parking is available

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license in hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
• SSN and driver’s license required for consideration
• Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
