Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active SC or compact license and strong telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a medical-surgical telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45pm to 7:15am
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Every other weekend coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
- Royal blue scrubs are required for this position
- All clinical modules must be completed prior to start date
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a different rate
- All requested time off must be submitted up front and may be approved based on facility needs
- During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Free onsite parking is available
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license in hand prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
- SSN and driver’s license required for consideration
- Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
