Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry night shift role requiring an active IL RN license and Med Surg, Post Op, or Stepdown experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med Surg/Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• May be asked to fill in as charge nurse or precept new hires
• May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses
• Utilizes the Epic EMR system
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team in managing and providing patient care
• Orientation includes 16 hours of training
• Travelers must have a taxable address outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, Thanksgiving)
• Only one day of requested time off allowed during major holiday periods

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Active IA RN license required, or proof of application for IA single-state or compact RN license
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS (AHA) certification preferred
• Previous Med Surg, Post Op, or Stepdown experience required
• Must be comfortable caring for 5-7 patients
• Driver's license required
• Recent work history and skills checklist required
• At least one supervisory reference from the past two years required
