Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) night shift position in Iowa, requiring at least 24 months of PICU experience and willingness to float to NICU and ED patient holds.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with private rooms and state-of-the-art equipment
• Night shift schedule, Friday to Sunday, with three 12-hour shifts per week
• May float to the NICU to care for 'feeders and growers' and to ED patient holds as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday rotations as scheduled
• Patient care using Epic EMR system
• Care for critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens in a family-centered environment
• Work alongside pediatric critical care doctors and within a collaborative multidisciplinary team
• Orientation consists of 16 hours prior to independent work
• Travelers may be required to work assigned holidays and follow holiday RTO restrictions
• A 50-mile local radius rule applies, with adjustments for local candidates

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum of 24 months recent PICU experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must be willing to float to NICU and emergency department holds
• Driver’s license required for consideration
