Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) night shift position in Iowa, requiring at least 24 months of PICU experience and willingness to float to NICU and ED patient holds.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with private rooms and state-of-the-art equipment
- Night shift schedule, Friday to Sunday, with three 12-hour shifts per week
- May float to the NICU to care for 'feeders and growers' and to ED patient holds as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday rotations as scheduled
- Patient care using Epic EMR system
- Care for critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens in a family-centered environment
- Work alongside pediatric critical care doctors and within a collaborative multidisciplinary team
- Orientation consists of 16 hours prior to independent work
- Travelers may be required to work assigned holidays and follow holiday RTO restrictions
- A 50-mile local radius rule applies, with adjustments for local candidates
Requirements
- Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC) required
- Minimum of 24 months recent PICU experience required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Must be willing to float to NICU and emergency department holds
- Driver’s license required for consideration
