Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg and Behavioral Health position in Iowa with 12-hour day shifts and floating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital setting with Med/Surg and Behavioral Health units
• Three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Floating may be required within the same discipline across local campuses
• Every other weekend coverage is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team providing care to Med/Surg and Behavioral Health patients
• Orientation will be provided (16 hours)
• Holiday coverage: Must work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)
• Only one day of requested time off allowed between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• IA Mandatory Reporter certification required
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
• References: One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
• Driver’s license required for consideration
• Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility
• First time travelers accepted
